Equal Employment Opportunity Commission Information and Resources

In April of 2012 the Equal Employment Opportunity Council issued new Guidelines For The Use Of Arrest And Conviction Records In Employment And Hiring Decisions. The new guidelines warn employers that use of criminal history in making employment decisions may violate Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, and lead to an investigation. To support local employers in understanding their rights and responsibilities regarding hiring and employment policies under the new guidelines, WPR has created an informational brochure and presentation.
To view the EEOC Guideline presentation, click here.
WPR staff are also available to present to local community organizations and businesses. To schedule a presentation, please call 734.327.9717.
WPR’s brochure on the EEOC Guidelines is available here (PDF). Feel free to print and distribute the brochure as you choose.
