    About the Program

The mission of Re-Entry Services at Catholic Charities Washtenaw County is to increase stability and to offer tangible assistance for people who have experienced incarceration. Through a holistic approach that addresses housing, vocational, social, and basic needs, the program offers a seamless system of support that leads to community reintegration and reduced recidivism. The Re-Entry Services program is proud to serve our communities by supporting and empowering our returning citizens.

A key aspect of CCWC’s Re-Entry Services program is the administration of the Offender Success program for Region 9 (Washtenaw, Livingston, Jackson, Hillsdale, Lenawee, Monroe Counties) as part of a state-wide collaborative with the Michigan Department of Corrections.

    Who We Help

The Re-Entry Services program is a referral-based program that works hand in hand with the Michigan Department of Corrections. Parole agents working in Washtenaw, Livingston, Jackson, Lenawee, Hillsdale, and Monroe send referrals to CCWC to authorize services for their clients.

If you are currently on parole in any of these counties, you must have a referral from your parole agent to be enrolled in services. Due to funding constraints, Re-Entry Services are reserved for people on parole only and cannot be used for people on probation, people who have discharged from MDOC supervision, or ‘maxed out’ of prison.

    Job Opportunities for Returning Citizens

Re-Entry Services updates our list of employers that are willing to hire returning citizens every four to six weeks. If you are an employer that would like to be added to this list, please e-mail Syd Rupp at [email protected].

    Requests for Proposals

Re-Entry Services releases requests for proposals (RFPs) as needed to find new vendors for different services amongst the six counties in Region 9. If you are interested in providing services for returning citizens, please e-mail Syd Rupp [email protected] and Kristin Anderson [email protected] with the completed RFP documents.

    How You Can Help

Returning citizens often return home with very few belongings and must start their lives over from scratch. Re-Entry Services strives to provide clients with needed items, like clothing, food, and hygiene supplies, to help make the transition back home easier. While Re-Entry Services is able to fund clothing and work supplies through our contract with MDOC, donations are vital to the program and our clients. Donations help the Re-Entry Services program expand the budget to take on more clients each year and help provide funding for new program opportunities.
